City and County are discussing additional IT sharing

Winneshiek County and the City of Decorah will hold meetings in the future to discuss ways the information technology programs of the two governments can further cooperate.

Currently county IT employees provide services to the City of Decorah.
Decorah City Administrator Chad Bird says other Winneshiek County city governments might be interested in similar sharing, such as a joint platform for governmental websites.

County officials say they will appoint County Engineer Lee Bjerke, County IT department workers Jon Lubke and Chopper Albert and one county supervisor to the study committee.  City of Decorah officials are discussing adding someone from the Law Enforcement Center, staff members and possibly representatives from the Street Department and Water Department
