Luther College announces 2015-2016 Center Stage Series

Luther College has announced the 2015-2016 Center Stage Series lineup.

10 events will be offered from September 18th through next April 7th:
 
September 18th:
"Neil Bergs '100 Years of Broadway'" celebrates musical theater's most iconic songs from shows including "Phantom of the Opera," "Les Misérables," "Jersey Boys," "Chicago," "Wicked" and "Rent."

October 2nd:
Danilo Perez Quintet features the pianist-composer and the rest of his quintet – violin, bass, drums and Latin American percussion – exploring jazz and Pan-American folkloric traditions.

October 24th:
Lucky/Plush Productions 'The Queue' unfolds in a fictional airport where travelers stumble comedically, tragically and awkwardly into each other's private lives.

November 6th:
"The 5 Browns" features five siblings, five Steinway pianos and one dynamic evening of classical piano repertoire.

November 12th:
'Letters Home' by the Griffin Theatre brings to life real letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East.  Join a discussion with the cast after the performance.

February 6th:

Imani Winds features this premier wind quintet performing a suite of "Portraits of Langston" as well as the more traditional Wind Quintet in E Flat for piano and winds by Beethoven.

February 18th:
'A Night in Ancient and New China' features Wu man and the Shanghai Quartet performing a suite of traditional Chinese folk songs and passionate solo pipa works.

February 26th:
The Celtic Nights' ensemble of singers, dancers and musicians presents an evening of Celtic melodies, storytelling, dance and rhythms within today's cherished and independent Ireland.

March 11th:
Lightwire Theatre will use black lights to breathe life into unique storytelling, literally lighting the stage.

April 7th:
American Spiritual Ensemble performs a mix of American hymns and African rhythms, with their dedication to intense and stirring renditions.
