Decorah resident hospitalized following construction accident

Decorah Police say they responded to a 9-1-1 call Saturday morning around 11:15 regarding someone who had accidentally cut off his hand with a power tool while doing construction work.

Police say 18-year-old Kennedy Folkedahl was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance.  He was then helicoptered to Mayo Clinic, where doctors reattached his hand.
