Calmar woman injured in ATV accident

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says a Calmar woman, 26-year-old Effie Huinker, was seriously injured last Wednesday in an ATV accident on 245th Avenue near Conover Road.

The Sheriff's Department says the driver of the ATV, Jacob Huinker, lost control of the ATV and went into a ditch. Jacob carried Effie to a residence at 1945 245th Ave to call for help. Jacob was cited for failure to maintain control and illegal operation on a public roadway.
