Sheriff's deputies arrest two in separate drunk driving stops

Two people are facing criminal charges, according to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department.

Early Saturday morning deputies stopped 24-year-old Eli Swartzentruber
of Mabel on Locust Road, arrested him for Second Offense Operating While Intoxicated and booked him into the Winneshiek County Jail.

Also Saturday, Winneshiek County sheriff's deputies transported 30-year-old Ryan Tangen of Hawkeye from the Fayette County Jail to the Winneshiek County Jail to face charges stemming from three arrest warrants.  Tangen is accused of Identity Theft, Driving While License denied or revoked and Giving a False Report to Law Enforcement.  Tangen also faces a charge of Second Offense Operating Under the Influence and three counts of unauthorized use of credit card.
