Four St. Benedict's students whose National History Day presentation discussed former Iowa Governor Robert Ray get a chance to perform their program for Ray himself

Students from St. Benedict School in Decorah brought their award-winning National History Day project to Des Moines Friday.

Their project discussed Governor Robert Ray's decision in 1975 to offer homes to refugees from SE Asia.  St. Ben's students Andy Murphy, Alli Groux, Emma Rooney, and Leah Weis had an informed audience listening to their presentation.  That's because former Gover Ray was among those attending.
