The latest book by outdoor writer and novelist Jerry Johnson of Decorah, "Old Coots Never Forget," has just been released.
The book is a compilation of 37 stories about outdoor sports, tales of life in the North Country, and essays about the important times, places and people in our lives that we will never forget. The 150-page book is a sequel to Johnson's previous collection of essays, "Crazy Old Coot," published in 2014. Both books use selected pieces from Johnson's blog, "Dispatches from a Northern Town" (www.dispatchesfromanotherntown.com)
Johnson is the author of two other novels: "Hunting Birds – The Lives and Legends of the Pine County Rod, Gun Dog, and Social Club," a character-driven murder mystery first published in 2011, and "Scrawny Dog, Hungry Cat, and Fat Rat," a children's novel published in 2014.
