Winneshiek Medical Center in March posted operating revenue of $4.7 million, total operating expenses of $4.5 million, for a total net gain margin of 5.3 percent, it was reported during the board of trustees monthly meeting.
After three quarters of a fiscal year, "That was a great turnaround in performance from last year," said Lynn Luloff, Chief Financial Officer of WMC.
Gundersen Health System physician Dr. Tony Coppola reported attending The Complete Course for Medical Staff Leaders, a conference by Horty Springer in New Orleans, with four other local physicians. They learned about the importance of "credential and privilege" in hiring staff, among other topics important to maintaining quality at the hospital, and "how to do it well," Dr. Coppola said. "It was awesome."
