New deputy begins working at Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department

Lance Peters is the newest Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputy.  Peters began his new job on Monday.

Before coming to the Sheriff's Department, Peters worked for five years as an officer of the Calmar/Ossian Police Department.  He says we worked closely with deputies during that time and sees his new job as "moving on up" the employment ladder.

Peters is a 2004 graduate of South Winneshiek High School and has a criminal justice degree from North Iowa Community College.
