It's full speed ahead on four construction projects in Winneshiek County.

County supervisors have given the go-ahead to reconstruction of a major portion of Pole LIne Road.  Mathy Construction was the winning bidder on the project, agreeing to do the work for $3,681,738.  Plans call for construction to begin in mid-July and for work to be finished in 70 working days.

County supervisors also have given the go-ahead on three bridge projects.  Brennan Construction will charge $226,333 to install a new bridge on Scenic River Road and $179,695 to put in a new bridge on 228th Avenue east of Burr Oak.  Finally, K Construction of Elkader will be paid $296,919 to build a new bridge on State Line Road.  Half of the cost will be paid by the State of Minnesota, since the bridge sits on the border of both MInnesota and Iowa.
