Luther College sorority Tau Delta Gamma will host a bowling fundraiser to raise money for cancer awareness from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Monday at Oneota Lanes, 400 N. Mill Street in Decorah.

"Bowling for Boobies" will raise funds to help local breast cancer patients through free mammograms provided in cooperation with Winneshiek County Celebration of Life.

"We are very excited for the opportunity to give back to the Decorah community, a community we have grown to love throughout our time at Luther. Being able to see the ways in which our fundraising directly impacts our local community is a profoundly powerful and rewarding experience," said the coordinator of the event, Luther studentElyse Chaffee.

Tau Delta Gamma will also host an awareness night from 9:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Tuesday on Luther's Library Lawn.  Winneshiek County Celebration of Life has donated 300 pink luminaries to be lit and arranged into a breast cancer ribbon. This event is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Winneshiek County Celebration of Life has been raising funds for cancer awareness and prevention since 1998, helping more than 1,000 women in the area. The non-profit group has provided for more than 800 free mammograms to women in the community since August 2013, and their Fuel for the Fight program has given more than $5,000 in gasoline grants to women needing to drive to and from treatments.
