Decorah Chorale Spring Concert is Sunday

The Decorah Chorale will perform a spring concert Sunday, May 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Decorah Lutheran Church. Admission is free, though a free-will offering will be collected.

The Chorale will perform diverse works including sacred music by Mozart, Faure, and Haydn; Three Scottish Folksongs arranged by Wilberg; The New Moon by Childs; and a set of American folksongs. Decorah High School vocal music students who recently had great success at state music festival will perform as special guests.

The Decorah Chorale is a community choir with over eighty members from the communities of Calmar, Clermont, Cresco, Decorah, Monona, New Hampton, Ossian, Spillville and Waukon. The group rehearses Sunday evenings beginning in late August and continuing through April, with several weeks off around the holidays. The Decorah Chorale is lead by artistic director, Jason Rausch, who is completing his first season with the choir. Concert collaborative pianist is Esme Wong.
