The Iowa Department of Transportation has opened a bid on the project to repave a major portion of Pole Line Road in Winneshiek County.
Once again Mathy Construction of Onalaska, Wisconsin submitted the only bid for the project. The bid they submitted in March was rejected by state officials in Ames because of state requirements that a certain amount of the work be done by minority-owned companies.
Tuesday in Ames state highway officials opened a bid from Mathy of $3,681,738.87. The bid will be reviewed by state officials and also discussed by Winneshiek County supervisors.
