Luther's Ruth Caldwell is honored

Luther College professor of modern languages Ruth Caldwell has been presented with the 2015 Edward S. Allen Award from the Iowa Conference of the American Association of University Professors.

The award is named after an Iowa State University professor who in the late 1930s was responsible for developing and expanding AAUP chapters in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and Nebraska. 

Caldwell, a lifetime member of AAUP, was recognized for her role as the longest serving member of Iowa Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure and for her exceptional contributions to higher education.
