Pulpit Rock Campground opens

The weather is gray and chilly but that didn't stop Brad Harris of Anamosa and his pet cat, Jesse James, from parking their 2007 Chevy Express converted camping van for a night of fishing and snoozing at newly opened Pulpit Rock Park in Decorah.  

"He steals the food off your plate," says Harris of the kitty. And he loves trout. The well equipped van features a 235-watt solar panel on its roof.

They're shown within the side doors of their home away from home. Harris thought the park had been opened for the season already. He felt he was lucky not to have arrived a day sooner. Otherwise they'd be camping at Walmart, he said.
