HSNEI urges adoption of black dogs and cats in April

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa will promote adopting black animals in April as part of the "Back in Black" national promotion.

During April HSNEI is reducing adoption fees by 50 percent for all black animals.

"Shelters and rescue groups across the country all have stories of how their black animals get overlooked for adoption, said HSNEI President Kim Powell.

Animals can be seen at the Love & Friendship Adoption Center at 2345 Millennium Road in Decorah.  HSNEI will also hold an adoption event at Winneshiek True Value from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18th.
