The Decorah City Council has approved a Park Board recommendation that the city hire Burbach Aquatics to provide the engineering required to replace the water slide at the Decorah Municipal Pool.
The Park-Rec Departent currently has almost $250,000 set aside or pledged towards the slide project, with additional funding possible.
Burbach has proposed an engineering fee of 10 percent of the construction cost, with miscellaneous expenses such as mileage and printing being reimbursed.
Park-Rec officials are hoping a new slide could be in place for the 2016 swimming season.
