(Anyone who has followed the Decorah bald eagle webcam knows it has generated a lot of interest--and a lot of questions, even on seemingly minor topics. Mr. Answer Person has received two questions recently: 1) Has anyone lately seen the owls which were trying to take over the nest from the eagles? 2) Is it spelled "eagle's nest," or "eagles' nest?")
Mr. Answer Person says: I Know this will be hard to believe, but I'm not qualified to answer the first question. Fortunately, Raptor Resource Project Director Bob Anderson took time from his busy schedule to e-mail: "As far as I have seen and (from the) lack of reports from the followers, the owls have moved off. It will be news if people hear the Great Horned Owls on the audio. We have always over the years heard Barred Owls in the background.
As for the second question, since "eagle's" is singular and "eagles'" is plural and there are two parents and three eaglets, Mr. Answer Person is casting his vote with "eagles'."
