Dan Marx named Winneshiek County Sheriff

Winneshiek County supervisors have named Deputy Dan Marx as the new Winneshiek County Sheriff.

Marx has been a Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputy since 2002.  Prior to that, he was a Winneshiek County reserve deputy from 1997 to 1999; a Winneshiek County jailer from 1998 until 2000; a Calmar police officer from 1999 until 2001 and a Decorah police offier from 2001 until 2002.

Marx will serve until the November election, when he will have to run for election.
