The Conservation Book Club will discuss "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson at their next meeting 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23rd in Phelps Park If weather does not allow, the meeting will take place at the Decorah Public Library.
Books are available for checkout at the Decorah Library front desk or may be purchased from a local bookseller.
A New York Times bestseller, "A Walk in the Woods" has been called a "mix of tenderness, humor, and an awakening environmental consciousness." In the book Bryson recounts his walk along the Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America.
The Conservation Book Club is hosted by Winneshiek County Conservation and the Decorah Public Library. It focuses on readings related to and inspired by conservation, sustainability, and the natural world. New readers are welcome at any meeting and the book club is open to all ages.
