Cable conduit will be installed along the Freeport Trail

Winneshiek County supervisors say it just makes sense to put in cable conduit as part of the Freeport Trail project.

They have approved spending up to $4,000 to put in the conduit along Old Stage Road as the bike trail gets built.  Just over 1,000 feet of conduit will be installed.

The project will cost an estimated $3.00 per foot of conduit.  County IT Department staffers say that's a lot cheaper than it would be to install conduit after the bike trail has been built.  County supervisors will also ask that the cost be split between the six governmental and non-profit members of the Metronet board.
