Decorah Police will get body cameras

A grant from the Winneshiek County Community Foundation will help pay for most of the cost of buying body cameras for 12 Decorah police officers.

Decorah Police Chief Bill Nixon announced receipt of the grant on Monday night.  Nixon says the project to get cameras for all 12 officers will probably cost just under $5,000, with the rest of the money coming from police department funds.  Nixon says he's hoping to have the cameras operational in two or three months.
