Schedule confirmed for hiring new Winneshiek County Sheriff

Winneshiek County Supervisors have finalized their schedule for hiring a new Sheriff to replace the retiring Leon Bohr.

Job advertisements will appear in Winneshiek County newspapers on Tuesday, March 17th.  County supervisors will discuss March 23rd which questions they would want to ask all the candidates.  Applicants will have until the end of office hours on Monday, March 23rd, to apply for the job.

Interviews will be scheduled with the candidfates on Wednesday, March 25th.  Supervisors then will meet Wednesday, April 1st, to vote on which candidate to hire.  The person selected would begin work immediately, if possible.
