No public comment at hearing on City of Decorah budget

The Decorah City Council Monday night gave its unanimous approval to the City of Decorah's proposed 2015-2016 budget.

The budget calls for a property tax rate of $13.80 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.  $1.30 per thousand dollars of that amount will pay for the bonds that are financing the Highway 9 utility project and the purchase of the new fire truck.

The city council held a public hearing on the budget Monday evening, but received no written or oral comments.
