Decorah Public Library Technology Administrator Mark Ruen is offering a weekly Tech Roundtable: a drop-in technology help session held from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
The library has recently acquired six iPads that attendees may use for instruction and exploration--or they may bring personal devices.
Attendees will receive one-on-one help with basic device operation, setting up accounts and/or installing apps, using the NEIBORS audio book and e-book lending program, and other topics of interest. Attendees will have the opportunity to share tips and tricks with each other as well.
The Library iPads will also be available for two-hour checkouts within the library building; ask staff for details. The purchase of the iPads was made possible by a Library Technology Grant through the State Library of Iowa with matching funds provided by the Friends of Decorah Public Library.
Ruen will continue to host a bi-weekly computer class (held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.) for anyone interested in learning more about email, web browsing, word processing, or creating a Facebook account.
