When Decorah resident Garrett Minear returned to his car on Winnebago Street recently, he noticed something in the back seat that hadn't been there before--a laptop computer.
But instead of keeping the laptop, the Decorah Eagle Scout resolved to do another good deed. With the help of Paul Greenberg at Stressless Tech Solutions, he opened the laptop and up came a Facebook account with the woman's name.
The two Googled her name and got an address of a woman in Mabel. The woman told them she had taken the laptop to Sims TV & Electronics to have it looked at. When she left the store, she put the laptop in what she thought was her own car and headed down the street for another chore.
The woman, naturally, was happy to hear someone had found her laptop computer. She was even happier when she learned Garrett and Paul volunteer to drive up to Mabel to deliver the laptop.
Garrett tells decorahnews.com the woman was "lucky I got it." Paul tells decorahnews.com, "The world could use more people like Garrett Minear."
