Murder trial in Decorah might be delayed again

Will a murder trial scheduled for Decorah in April be held at that time?

Lawyers for Alexander Fazzino, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, have asked for another delay, according to the Des Moines Register.

The trial was moved to Winneshiek County because of pretrial publicity in Boone County.  Fazzino's former wife was the daughter of Richard Beckwith, a former CEO of Fareway Stores, which is headquartered in Boone.

Attorneys for Fazzino have now file a motion asking that the trial in Decorah be delayed so that he can spend time helping his daughter recuperate from a bone marrow transplant operation she will have next month.

No ruling has been made yet on the motion.
