Governor signs gas tax increase

Less than 24 hours after the Iowa Senate and the Iowa House of Representatives gave their approval to a 10 cent a gallon increase in Iowa's road use tax, Governor Terry Branstad has signed the bill into law.

Branstad received the legislation Wednesday morning--and immediately signed it.  The measure will generate an estimated additional $215 million annually for city, county and state road projects.
