4-H'ers from Allamakee, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek counties are learning more about military service.
U.S. Marines Recruiter Staff Sergeant Gore met with the 4-Hers recently at First Lutheran Church in Decorah. He told the group he enlisted in the military after the terrorists attack on September 11, 2001. He said he felt led to serve his country and make an impact in the world. His presentation discussed the history of the Marines, uniform facts, eligibility, specialized training and active duty.
