Traffic accident does over $8,000 in damages

A Decorah teenager has been ticketed for Failure to Maintain Control of a Vehicle after striking a parked car on Mound Street Sunday night.

Decorah Police were called to the 500 block of Mound Street around 10:45 Sunday night after 18-year-old Cody Phillips struck a parked car, causing a total of $8,300 in damages.  Phillips said he was distracted searching for an item in the center console of his car.  He was not injured in the accident.
