Carrie Lee Elementary has been ranked 11th out of 540 public elementary schools in Iowa by www.niche.com, a company from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, founded in 2002 by Carnegie Mellon University students. The site ranks U.S. neighborhoods, colleges, and K-12 schools to help the general public in making future choices.
Rankings are based on four categories. Carrie Lee received an A for academics, A+ for district overall experience, A- for teachers, and C for culture and diversity.
The top ten elementary schools in Iowa were Fellows Elementary, Ames; Meeker Elementary, Ames; Brookview Elementary, West Des Moines; Walnut Hills Elementary, Urbandale; Wickham Elementary, Coralville; Eason Elementary, Waukee; Shuler Elementary, Clive; Kate Mitchell Elementary, Ames; Lawson Elementary, Johnston; and Northeast Elementary, Ankeny.
