Winneshiek County receives two applications for animal confinement operations

Winneshiek County has received applications from two Ridgeway area property owners asking for approval of confined animal finishing operations.

The first application comes from Kevin Moellers of 2845 310th Avenue in Ridgeway.  He is asking for permission to expand an existing confinement operation.

The second application is for the "Koehler Site" on 335th Avenue in Lincoln Township.  It asks for approval of plans for a finishing facility for 7,499 hogs.

County supervisors have scheduled a public hearing for 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23rd at the courthouse on the Moellers application.  A public hearing on the Koehler Site application will be held either February 23rd or March 2nd.
