Mum on Mumford

It might still be several weeks before a decision is made on the location for an outdoor concert featuring the Gentlemen of the Road and Mumford & Sons.

Mumford & Sons promoter Don Sullivan tells decorahnews.com that several locations remain in contention for the concert, which is expected to attract 30,000 to 35,000 people.

Early plans had been to be to hold the concert in Decorah, but Luther College rejected a request to supply 250 rooms for four nights.  College officials said there was not enough time to plan the festival in Decorah--even though the first contact from promoters was last September--and the concert l

Sources tell decorahnews.com that Wartburg is one of the locations being considered for the concert, but Sullivan tells decorahnews.com that there are "several" possible locations.  One other early possibility for concert location was Ottumwa, according to several sources.
