Courtney wins Decorah Middle School Geography Bee

Decorah Middle School student Jordan Courtney was this year's winner of the school-wide National Geography Bee.

5th through 8th grade students participated in the bee, where they were given seven geography questions covering American states and countries around the world. The top students from each grade level competed against one another until two students remained.  Eighth grade student Jordan Courtney took first place while 7th grader Cody Mincks was the runner-up.

The next level of competition is a written exam that will determine if Courtney will be chosen to represent Decorah Middle School at the state competition.
