Decorah resident Marilyn Roverud receives "Spirit of Luther" award

Luther College has presented 1966 Luther graduate Marilyn Haugen Roverud of Decorah with the "Spirit of Luther Award."

The award was started by the college in 2002 to recognize individuals who have provided significant sustained service to the college. 

In presenting the award to Roverud on Friday, Luther President Paula Carlson noted that Marilyn had served 12 years on the Luther Board of Regents and was described by a fellow Regent as "the heart of the board."  Carlson also noted that the Roveruds have frequently opened their home to college visitors, helped in the planning of college events and served as ambassadors of Luther to the Decorah community.
