Winneshiek Medical Center set a record in December by posting total patient service revenues of $8,541,257. It was the best monthly financial performance in the history of the hospital.
Chief Financial Office Lynn Luloff says in the first six months of the hospital's 2014-2015 fiscal year, total revenues came to $47,304,821. That's around $4.6 million more than the same period in 2013-2014.
Luloff cautioned that higher expenses in the second half of the 2014-2015 fiscal year and lower Medicare reimbursements will mean small net gains, but she's still confident Winneshiek Medical Center will meet its budget goals.
Luloff says visits to Decorah Clinic were up 24 percent in December, accounts receivable "are going in the right direction" and hospital staffers were able to do a good job of holding down expenses.
