Bridge repair project is proceeding

One of Winneshiek County's defective bridges is about to get replaced.

Winneshiek County supervisors have approved specifications for the Bridge #409 project, which will replace a bridge on State Line Road.

Because the bridge is on the border of Iowa and MInnesota, Winneshiek County and Fillmore County will split the estimated $360,000 cost.  Winneshiek County will use federal bridge repair funds to pay for 80 percent of its cost, so the new bridge will cost Winneshiek County just an estimated $36,000.
