Decorah Police are warning of a new scam

Decorah Police are warning the public of another telephone scam.

Callers will pretend to be with a credit card company.  They will say they are calling to reduce the interest rate on your credit card.  Then they ask for your credit card number, your mother's maiden name, your date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Police are reminding the public to never give out financial information to any unsolicited caller.  They're also asking you to call the Police Department if you receive this type of call.
