Decorah High School has named Simon Cropp as the recipient of the Norman C. Bradish Scholarship for the 2014-15 school year.

The scholarship is named after Norman Bradish of Decorah, who endowed the scholarship with a large donation.  The scholarship pays for most or all of a selected graduating Decorah High School senior, depending on the financial performance that year of the endowment fund.  It comes with a few restrictions, however--the recipient must be a male, must attend a non-religious college outside the state of Iowa and must remain unmarried until finishing his studies.

Simon plans to attend Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon where he will major in Environmental Studies with a pre-law focus.

Simon participates in cross-country, soccer, concert choir and orchestra.  He serves as vice-president of concert choir and National Honor Society. In addition, Simon has participated in large group and individual speech, Envirothon, Physics Olympics, Mathematical Modeling, Mock Trial, and the Food and Fitness Group. He is also avid guitar player and has performed in numerous extra-curricular theatrical productions.

In 2014, Simon was named an AP Scholar for passing four Advanced Placement Exams. He has spent many hours tutoring fellow Decorah High School students in the school's Viking Academic Success Center.

Simon is the son of Kristen Underwood of Decorah and Hal Cropp of Lanesboro.
