Long-time Decorah police officer has retired

Decorah police officer Al Ludeking has submitted his resignation, effective January 2nd.

Ludeking was the longest-serving member of the Decorah Police Department at the time of his retirement.  He had helped with the training of many of the department's newest police officers.

The Decorah Police Department has already hired a replacement.  Brent Parker had been working as a police officer in West UNion.  He will begin his new job in Decorah on Saturday.
