Decorah Community School District is switching to a new system for issuing alerts

Posted: Tue, Dec 16, 2014 2:33 PM

Beginning Monday, January 5th, the Decorah Community School District will NO LONGER use Iowa School Alerts system to issue alerts.  Instead, it will switch to the SchoolMessenger system.

On Friday, December 19th, the Decorah Community School District will send an "Opt-In" text message from the SchoolMessenger system to allow parents, students and the public to receive text alerts from Decorah Community School District. The cell phone numbers provided to the district within PowerSchool will be used to send the text message.

Those with children in the district can manage their settings for SchoolMessenger from within the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Community members who are not parents or guardians of students in the district may sign up for these alerts on the form on the District website at http://www.decorah.k12.ia.us under the SchoolMessenger Opt-In Form.
