A report by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department and the Northeast Iowsa Drug Task Force says the biggest drug problems in the five county area of Northeast Iowa are marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription drugs. The report also says "Drugs such as heroin and cocaine have shown no increases in the area."
The report says a total of 538 drug charges have been filed in Winneshiek, Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Chickasaw counties in the last 15 months. None of those charges have involved heroin or cocaine.
