Kurt DeVore, Director of Information, Systems, & Instructional Technology for Decorah Schools, told the School Board on Monday night that they were in the process of purchasing server upgrades for the District. This will begin the transition to off site data storage and server capabilities at one of the other Decorah MetroNet anchor sites. This redundancy and ability to use alternative server sites is one of the major benefits of being a MetroNet partner.
The server upgrades come at a cost of nearly $60k, but the purchase had been earlier approved by the School Board as part of a comprehensive technology package.
