Members of the Decorah Police Department threw away their razors in November as part of "No Shave November," a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Organizers had hoped to raise $1,000 for cancer research.
On Wednesday morning police presented a check for $2,500 to American Cancer Society representative Sarah Foster.
The success of the fundraiser was due in part to the number of people who joined in with Decorah Police on the project, including Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies, law enforcement dispatchers, staff members and other law enforcement personnel.
Donations were taken at the Law Enforcement Center at Decorah City Hall.
