33-year-old Chad Lechtenberg of Fort Atkinson has been ticketed for Failure to Maintain Control of a Vehicle after he allegedly knocked over a utility pole behind the Bluff's Inn hotel last Wednesday, November 26th.

Decorah Police were first called to the scene Wednesday afternoon and noticed several Alliant Energy workers trying to repair the damage.  An Alliant Energy worker told police a 3/4 ton truck owned by Bruening Rock Products had struck the utility pole, but the driver of the truck left the scene.

On Monday, December 1st, Decorah Police met with Lechtenberg and took photos of his damaged work truck.  Police received an estimate from Alliant Energy that repairing the crash damage cost $12,310.69.  Damage to the truck was estimated at $3,500.
