Two Decorah HS 9th graders participate in honor orchestra

Decorah HS ninth grade students Ayla Carbonell and Avery Dugger recently participated in the Opus Honor Choir Festival, a middle school all state choir festival.

Over 750 students were nominated by their directors for 180 positions in the choir.  Selections were made by means of a recorded audition. Carina Yee was also accepted into the honor choir but was not able to participate due to her selection into the Iowa High School All State Orchestra.

Guest conductor of the choir was Ryan Person of Iowa City West HS.  The Opus Honor Choir Festival is under the auspices of the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Inc.
