Decorah Police say their Special Traffic Enforcement Program was effective

The Decorah Police Department has released statistics from last week's Special Traffic Enforcement Program, which ran from Monday through Sunday of Thanksgiving week.

Police made three arrests for drunk driving and issued four speeding citations.  In addition there were three narcotics arrest made, one arrest for open container of alcohol and one arrest for driving with a suspended license.

Police conducted three canine searches, investigated nine traffic accidents, issued three traffic citations and made four motorists assists.  In addition, thery gave 27 verbal warning for traffic issues.
