Firefighters called to Day Spring Lane

The Decorah Fire Department was called to 111 East Day Spring Lane shortly before 1:00 Friday morning.  A stove fire in Apartment #4had been extinguished by the sprinklersystem, however water continued to flow from the system.  The sprinklersystem was shut down and the apartment was ventilated.   The occupants of Apartment #4 and of the adjacent apartments were evacuated for thenight. 

Fire and smokedamage were contained to the apartment with water damage to the businessbelow.  No injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire appears tobe cooking related.
