Parking lot for soccer fields to expand for next year

The Decorah Parks & Recreation Department will double the size of the parking lot that serves the soccer fields at Will Baker Park.

The soccer fields have been hugely popular, but that has created parking problems along Pulpit Rock Road (see decorahnews.com's story from September).

Park-Rec officials will use hotel/motel tax proceeds to pay for the project.  It is expected the work will cost $9,000.  The work will be done soon, so the expanded parking lot can be used when soccer games begin next spring.
