The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department has given intruder response traing to 90 NICC staffers

Northeast Iowa Community College continues its staff training on how to respond to an armed intruder on any NICC campus.

NICC Calmar Campus Provost Rhonda Seibert says NICC continues to offer training to faculty and staff in Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evacuate (ALICE) procedures as a response to intruders on campus.   "ALICE involves training staff and students to be aware of their surroundings at all times," says Seibert.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department so far has trained more than 90 NICC staff members through intruder simulation exercises.
